Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing a subscription, downloading, installing, or using Shamefull ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.

2. Description of Service

Shamefull is a content-filtering service for iPhones and Android phones, configured from an Apple Silicon Mac (iPhone or Android) or a Windows 11 x64 PC (Android only). The Software:

  • Places your iPhone under device supervision, or installs itself as the Device Owner of your Android phone, using a USB connection to a Mac or Windows PC
  • Installs a Control D DNS profile that filters adult and related content categories
  • Protects that profile with a removal code held by Shamefull and disables VPN creation on the phone
  • Does not filter, monitor, or capture anything on the computer used for setup
  • Maintains protection during a 72-hour cancellation delay
  • May block legitimate websites or fail to block some content

3. Important Warnings

You acknowledge and understand that:

  • iPhone setup changes device management and DNS configuration and requires a backup, restore, restart, and USB connection to a Mac
  • Android setup requires Android 10 or later, USB debugging, and the removal of every account from the phone before the Shamefull app becomes Device Owner; it then blocks uninstall, VPN configuration, and factory reset from Settings
  • Supervision and the installed profile cannot be removed from the phone without the removal code, entered in the Shamefull Mac app, or a full erase of the device
  • Removing protection from an iPhone requires an Apple Silicon Mac running the Shamefull app
  • Removal codes are sent by email only, after the 72-hour cancellation delay
  • Removal codes should be used within seven days of being sent; after that deadline an Android phone removes its own protection automatically, and an iPhone has no internet access until the profile is removed with the Shamefull Mac app
  • Control D may block access to websites you consider legitimate
  • Protection remains active during the 72-hour cancellation delay
  • You are solely responsible for any consequences of installing the Software on your devices
  • The Software should only be installed on devices you own or have authorization to modify

4. License and Device Limits

Your subscription grants you a license to use Shamefull on a limited number of devices based on your plan:

  • Basic: Up to 2 devices
  • Plus: Up to 4 devices
  • Pro: Up to 7 devices

Each device registration is tied to a unique hardware identifier. License keys are non-transferable and may not be shared, resold, or redistributed.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe
  • Your subscription automatically renews unless canceled before the renewal date
  • You can cancel at any time through your dashboard or Stripe customer portal
  • Billing cancellation is scheduled through Stripe, while protection remains active for at least the 72-hour cancellation delay
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods

6. Removal Assistance

After the cancellation delay, your removal codes are sent in the final cancellation email. On an iPhone, plug the phone into a Mac running the Shamefull app and enter the code there; on Android, enter it in the Shamefull app on the phone. Use the codes within seven days; after that, an Android phone removes its own protection and an iPhone has no internet access until the profile is removed. If that fails, contact our support team at support@shamefull.io. An active subscription is not required to receive removal assistance.

7. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Install the Software on devices you do not own or have authorization to modify
  • Use the Software to restrict another adult's internet access without their informed consent
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Software or license keys
  • Use the Software for any purpose that violates applicable law

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BLOCK ALL UNDESIRABLE CONTENT, THAT IT WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO BYPASS, THAT IT WILL BE ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH OTHER SOFTWARE OR SERVICES ON YOUR DEVICE. DNS FILTERING BLOCKS DOMAINS, NOT CONTENT INSIDE APPLICATIONS YOU ALREADY HAVE, AND DEPENDS ON CONTROL D AND ITS BLOCKLISTS, WHICH ARE OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHAMEFULL AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF DATA DURING BACKUP OR RESTORE, LOSS OF ACCESS TO WEBSITES OR SERVICES, OR DEVICE INSTABILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Software shall be resolved through binding arbitration.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through our website. Your continued use of the Software after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
