1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing a subscription, downloading, installing, or using Shamefull ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.

2. Description of Service

Shamefull is a DNS filtering tool that operates at the kernel level of your operating system. The Software:

  • Redirects DNS traffic through content-filtering DNS servers
  • Blocks access to categories of websites based on your selected filter profile
  • Makes these changes persistent and difficult to reverse by design
  • May block access to legitimate websites that fall within filtered categories

3. Important Warnings

You acknowledge and understand that:

  • The Software makes permanent changes to your system's network configuration
  • After locking, removing the Software requires booting into Recovery Mode (macOS), using a Live USB (Linux), or multiple technical steps (Windows)
  • The Software may block access to websites you consider legitimate, including social media platforms, forums, and other sites
  • You are solely responsible for any consequences of installing the Software on your devices
  • The Software should only be installed on devices you own or have authorization to modify

4. License and Device Limits

Your subscription grants you a license to use Shamefull on a limited number of devices based on your plan:

  • Basic: Up to 2 devices
  • Plus: Up to 5 devices
  • Pro: Up to 10 devices

Each device registration is tied to a unique hardware identifier. License keys are non-transferable and may not be shared, resold, or redistributed.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe
  • Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • You can cancel at any time through your dashboard or Stripe customer portal
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods

6. Removal Assistance

If you need to remove the Software from your device, contact our support team at support@shamefull.io. We provide removal guides and assistance for all supported platforms. Removal may require technical steps such as booting into Recovery Mode or using a Live USB. An active subscription is not required to receive removal assistance.

7. Prohibited Use

You may not:

  • Install the Software on devices you do not own or have authorization to modify
  • Use the Software to restrict another adult's internet access without their informed consent
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Software or license keys
  • Use the Software for any purpose that violates applicable law

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BLOCK ALL UNDESIRABLE CONTENT, THAT IT WILL BE ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH OTHER SOFTWARE OR SERVICES ON YOUR DEVICE. DNS FILTERING DEPENDS ON THIRD-PARTY DNS PROVIDERS AND THEIR BLOCKLISTS, WHICH ARE OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHAMEFULL AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF ACCESS TO WEBSITES OR SERVICES, SYSTEM INSTABILITY, OR ANY DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE PERMANENT NATURE OF THE SOFTWARE'S SYSTEM MODIFICATIONS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Software shall be resolved through binding arbitration.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through our website. Your continued use of the Software after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
